In this short article we will list the top events in Barcelona in 2015. Barcelona is the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain and it is also the second largest city in Spain.

Barcelona is among the most visited cities in whole Europe so during the whole year there are countless programs such as the different exhibitions, concerts, markets and various festivals as well. So in this article we will just go through some of the nicest programs in Barcelona.

If you like sport events and if you are especially interested in marathons then the ‘Barcelona Marathon’ is the perfect choice on a holiday in Barcelona. The annual ‘Barcelona Marathon’ is one of the most popular events in the life of the city and each year thousands of people from different countries attends the race. The route of the race changes every year and usually it leads through some of the most beautiful spots of the city. The goal is to finish the 42km less than 6 hours. This year the ‘Barcelona Marathon’ will take place on 15th March.

Another popular sport events is the ‘Trofeo Conde de Godò de Tennis’ which is a tennis tournament. This year the tennis tournament will be held from 20th April to 26th April. Another awaited event in the city is the ‘La Diada de Sant Jordi’ which is the Lover’s Day. On this day the city commemorates the death of Sant Jordi and in this occasion men give women roses and women give men a book. The best place to celebrate this day is at La Rambla. The ‘La Diada se Sant Jordi’ will be held on 23rd April in 2015.

One of the best reasons to visit Barcelona in the summer is the ‘Barcelona Summer Festival’ (Grec). At the festival you can experience the best concerts, theatre, music and dance performances. The ‘Grec’ is usually held some time in July but the exact dates are not confirmed yet.

In the winter when the weather cools down and Christmas is just around the corner the various Christmas markets open in the city. Usually just like in the other big European cities they are open from the end of November until the end of December. It is one of the highlights of the city in the winter and it is a perfect place to get into the festive spirit and do some of your pre-Christmas shoppings as well.

Apart from these events in the city there are plenty of concerts in Barcelona through the whole year. Visitors can attend the most famous artists concerts such as Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, Roxette, AC/DC, Maroon 5, U2, Nickelback and so on.

U2 concert in Barcelona

U2 will be on a world tour from 2015 and in this occasion the band will give two concerts in Barcelona, Spain.

U2 is one of the most popular Irish rock bands which was formed in 1976 and its current members are Bono, who is the lead singer, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. U2 in no time became one of the most successful bands on the whole world and during their career they have released 13 studio albums. The band’s latest album was the Songs of Innocence which was released in September in 2014 and this was the 13th album of the band. In this occasion the band will start a world tour from next year in May. The Innocence + Experience Tour will be U2’s 15th upcoming tour and so far the band has announced 60 shows world wide. U2 will also visit Spain where they will give two concerts in the second largest city of Spain in the capital of Catalonia in Barcelona. The first U2 concert in Barcelona will be held on Monday 5th October in 2015 and the second concert will be on the upcoming day on Tuesday 6th October in 2015. Both of the concerts in Barcelona will take place at Palau Saint Jordi.

An exhibition a different way

The exhibition With Your Own Hands will be on display from December 2014 until next year, March 2015 at the Fundació Joan Miró.

The With Your Hands exhibition let all the visitors to experience the exhibition of Rita Ponce de León in a new and unique way. The exhibition tries to show art and the approach of art from a new perspective by letting the visitors discover the exhibited objects in a new and unusual way. At the exhibition visitors will be free to interact with the architecture and the other objects that are presented. This way new opportunities for creativity will open for the visitors where they can experience an exhibition in a different way. The exhibited objects can be moved and touched which gives a free space and let the visitors to be closer to the artist and to art as well. The exhibition With Your Own Hands will take place at the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, Spain. The exhibition will be held from 19th December 2014 until 15th March 2015.

Picasso and Dali exhibition

This exhibition will show the works of Dali and Picasso from next year March until June in the famous Picasso Museum in Barcelona.

Salvador Dali was a Spanish Catalan surrealist painter who was born in 1904 and he died in 1989. Pablo Picasso was also a Spanish painter who was born in 1881 and he died in 1973. Both of them had a big impact on art and both of them are one of the most influential painters on the whole world. The exhibition will show the works of the two Spanish painters. Dali was on a trip to Paris in the spring of 1926 when he visited the studio where Picasso was preparing for his exhibition after Dali returned from the trip he started a serious work on reflecting Picasso’s work. In 1936 both Picasso and Dali were reflecting on the Spanish Civil Wars with powerful art works. The exhibition on Dali and Picasso will be held from 19th March 2015 until 28th June 2015. The exhibition will take place at the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.

The story of the European medals

This exhibition shows the development of the medals in Europe between the 17th and 19th century. The exhibition illustrates the changes medals went through the centuries and displays a wide range of various medal works from the different kings and rulers in Europe.

At the exhibition visitors have the chance to have a closer look on these rare and unique master pieces and you can also discover more on the exhibited objects history as well. The exhibition displays several medals to the audience and some of them have never been exhibited before. First the medals were commemorated the biggest and most important events of the life of the emperor such as diplomatic success, family success, constructions of public buildings and victories at wars and so on. The exhibition shows medals from the period of Louis XIV of France, Frederic the Great of Prussia and Napoleon. The exhibition Stories in Metal. Art and Power in European Medals is shown at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona and it is held from 17th October in 2014 until 18th October in 2015. The entrance fee for the exhibition is for € 3.50.

Exhibition on Casagemas

The exhibition on Carlos Casagemas is on display at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya from this year October until the beginning of next year.

Carlos Casagemas was a Spanish art student and poet who was born in 1880 in Barcelona and he died in 1901 in Paris. Casagemas is best known for his friendship with Pablo Picasso. This exhibition shows in total 38 art works of the painter including 7 oil paintings and drawings. Although Casagemas died at an early age (he was only 20 when he committed suicide in Paris) his work had a great influence both on the Catalan art and on Picasso as well. At the exhibition visitors have the chance to have a closer look on Casagemas works and learn more about the friendship between Picasso and Casagemas. The exhibition on Carlos Casagemas takes place at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona. The exhibition is held from 31st October 2014 to 22nd February 2015. The entrance to the exhibition is for € 4.

I am bringing my family to Barcelona for winter holidays. Every evening we watch something together on the laptop on Netflix, but I have heard that Netflix is unavailable in Spain. What can I do to make Netflix work in Barcelona and in Spain?

That is a brilliant question, and as someone located in Barcelona we of course enjoy Netflix ourselves, so the answer to this question is based on our very own personal experience. It is true as you wrote, that Netflix is in general unavailable in Spain and in Barcelona, meaning that you will only get an error message as you try to visit Netflix.com from Spain. As of know Netflix has not yet arrived to the nation, and that is the general problem.

The solution – How to watch Netflix in Barcelona!

Therefore, as you want to watch Netflix in Barcelona, what you need to do, is to make the Internet and Netflix believe that you are located elsewhere. If you already have a Netflix subscription in let us say the United Kingdom, then you should get yourself an IP address in the United Kingdom, and once you have such an IP address, you will be able to watch Netflix in the UK in Barcelona. Roxette concert in Barcelona 2015

The Swedish rock pop band Roxette will give a huge gig in Barcelona at spring in 2015. Roxette is a Swedish rock pop duo which was formed in 1986. The duo includes Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle.

The Swedish duo got world wide known when they released their album Look Sharp! in the late 1980s and this album was their biggest breakthrough in the music industry. Their third album the Joyride which came out in 1991 was also as successful as Look Sharp!. During the years Roxette became one of the most popular Swedish rock pop band and the duo received several awards and was nominated multiple times. Roxette is on a world tour since October 2014 until the summer of 2016 and they gave their first concert in Russia. This is the eleventh world tour of the band and on this occasion they will give plenty of concerts world wide. Roxette will be on stage in Barcelona, Spain as well and this will be the only concert held in Spain. The concert in Barcelona will take place at Sant Jordi Club. Robbie Williams concert in Barcelona 2015

Robbie Williams will be on a world tour from 2015 and he will be on stage in several European countries during the tour. The Let Me Entertain You is his upcoming eleventh world tour.

Robbie Williams is an English singer and songwriter. He started his career in the pop band Take That in 1990. After he quitted the band in 1995 Williams started a really successful solo career and he released several albums during the years. Robbie Williams became one of the most successful singers of all time and he sold more than 77 million albums which made him one of the best selling British solo artist in the United Kingdom. In 2009 Robbie Williams joined the pop band Take That again and he is still part of the group. Williams latest album the Swings Both Ways came out in 2013. From next year Williams will be on a world tour and he will visit several countries during his world tour. In total he will give 16 concerts, 14 in Europe and 2 in Asia. The first concert will be in Spain in Madrid in March. He will also give a concert in Barcelona, Spain. The concert in Barcelona will take place at Palau Sant Jordi.
