Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona 2015

The Spanish Grand Prix is a Formula One race which will be held in Spain in Barcelona. The Formula One is one of the oldest car races on the world which was first held in 1913 and it celebrated its centenary in 2013.

The 2015 Formula One season is the 66th season of the Formula One World Championship which starts in Australia and in the Formula One World Championship ten teams are taking part to race on the 19 Grand Prix. The Formula One World Championship started already in Australia on the 15th March and it will end in Abu Dhabi on the 29th November in 2015. In the Formula One World Championship all together 19 countries will host a Grand Prix in 2015.

Lewis Hamilton won the championship last year in Abu Dhabi so in 2015 Hamilton is the defending Driver’s Champion. The Spanish Grand Prix is the 5th Grand Prix stop and it will take place on the 10th May in 2015. The race will be held in Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Barcelona.

Although Barcelona is a really popular tourist destination there are not too many movies that were shot in this beautiful and vibrant city. So in this short article we collected some of the best movies that takes place in Barcelona.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona
The first movie we would like to introduce to you is the Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Vicky Cristina Barcelona is an American romantic comedy which was released in 2008. The movie was written and directed by Woody Allen. The story is about the two American friends Vicky and Cristina who spends the summer in Barcelona where they meet a local artist Juan Antonio who is attracted to both of them and he attracts both of them as well. The whole movie was shot in Barcelona and some parts of the movie in other Spanish cities. The movie stars Rebecca Hall as Vicky, Scarlett Johansson as Cristina, Javier Bardem as Juan Antonio and Penelope Cruz as Maria Elena the unstable ex of Juan Antonio.

The Orphanage
The second movie from the list is The Orphanage. The Orphanage (El Orfanato) is a Spanish horror movie which was released in 2007 and it was directed by J. A. Bayona. The movie is centred around a woman Laura who returns to her childhood home to the orphanage. She wants to turn it into a home and the problems arise when Laura and her husband notices that their son, Simòn thinks he has a masked friend who he has a lot of fun with and after an argument he disappears. The movie stars Belèn Rueda as Laura, Fernando Cayo as Carlos who is the husband of Laura, Roger Prìncep as Simòn their son.

Red Lights
The third movie from our list that was shot partly in Barcelona is the Red Lights. Red Lights is an American-Spanish thriller that was released in 2012. The movie was written and directed by Rodrigo Cortès. The film focuses on a physicist and a university psychology professor. The movie Red Lights stars Cillian Murphy as Tom Buckley, Robert De Niro as Simon Silver, Sigourney Waver as Margaret Matheson, Joely Richardson as Monica Handsen, Elizabeth Olsen as Sally Owen and Craig Roberts as Ben.

The Gunman
The other movie from the list which was also shot partly in Barcelona is The Gunman. The Gunman is an American action thriller that will be released in March 2015. The movie was directed by Pierre Morel and it was written by Don Macpherson and Pete Travis and it is based on Jean-Patrick Manchette’s novel The Prone Gunman. The film stars Sean Penn as Martin Terrier, Idris Elba as Dupont, Peter Franzèn as Reiniger, Javier Bardem as Felix and Ray Winstone as Stan. The movie is about Martin Terrier who is an agent.

The Passenger
Our last movie from the list is The Passenger which was directed by Michelangelo Antonioni and written by Petter Wollen. The Passenger was released in 1975 and it stars Jack Nicholson as David Locke, Maria Schneider as The Girl, Steven Berkoff as Stephen, Ian Hendry as Martin Knight and Jenny Runacre as Rachel Locke. The movie is about the American journalist who is working on a documentary in Chad and gets involved in some shady situations.

The most romantic places in Barcelona

Barcelona is the second largest city of Spain and it is definitely one of the most popular ones as well. Barcelona has a lot to offer to its visitors from the most romantic places in the city, through the good weather and colourful programs to the historical sites and attractions of the city. The first place on our list is the Parc de la Ciutadella. The Parc de la Ciutadella is a big park in the city. AC/DC Barcelona 2015

The worldwide known Australian rock band the AC/DC will give a concert in Barcelona in 2015. The AC/DC is an Australian hard rock band and they are considered as the pioneer of heavy metal.

The band was formed in 1973 and the line up of the band went through several changes before they released their first album. The band is one of the most popular bands on the whole world which sold over 200 million records world wide. The best known songs of the band are Highway to Hell, Let There Be Rock, Back in Black, Problem Child and so on. From the beginning of 2015 the Australian rock band will be on a world tour. With the Rock or Bust World Tour the band will give total 28 concerts in Europe and the tour supports the band’s 15th studio album the Rock or Bust. AC/DC will perform in most of the bigger European cities including Paris, Berlin, Glasgow, London, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona and so on. AC/DC will give three concerts in Spain, two in Madrid and one in Barcelona.

Kiss Barcelona 2015

Kiss is on a world tour since 2014 and in this occasion the famous American rock band will also stop at Barcelona for a concert.

Kiss is an American rock band which was formed in 1973 and became one of the most popular rock bands of all time. The band is most known for their unusual appearance and extreme live performances (face paint, fire breathing, blood splitting, smoking guitars and so on). Through the years the band sold over 100 million records which made them the best selling band of all time. Kiss is on a world tour with The Kiss 40th Anniversary World tour from 2014 until 2015. With the tour the band will visit countless cities and they will give in total 83 concerts all over the world including Barcelona but it is not the only one concert Kiss will give in Spain they will also perform in the capital city of Spain in Madrid as well.

When does it snow in Barcelona?

Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain which is also the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain. Barcelona is located on the eastern coast on the Iberian Peninsula so the city has Mediterranean climate which means winters are mild and summers are warm.

The average temperature in Barcelona at the day time is 20 °C and at night it is around 11 °C. The winters in Barcelona are really mild and the coldest months of the year in the city are December, January and February. At the winter the temperature ranges from 8 °C to 17 °C during the day time and at night it ranges from 2 °C to 10 °C. The temperature never really falls below 10 °C in the winter so it never really snows in Barcelona due to its climate but it is most likely to have snow in the city is in January.

The biggest snowfall since 1962 in Barcelona was in 2010 when public transport and roads were shutdown. Although Barcelona does not get too much snow during the winter the Pyrenees do and that’s why Barcelona is a good place for holidays even in the winters. The closest ski resorts to the city are La Molina and La Masella which are only a one and a half hours drive away.

I love the weather, but I really miss watching the UK TV channels such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc. Is there anyway I can watch these channels online? As I try now I always get an error message telling me that it is not possible because I am in Spain.

Barcelona Marathon 2015

The annual Barcelona Marathon will be held again this year in the middle of March. Barcelona is the second largest city of Spain and it is also the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain.

Barcelona is a vibrant and colourful city which attracts countless people every year. The Barcelona Marathon or the Marathon Catalunya is one of the highlights of the city and over 17.000 runners are expected to participate in the race in 2015. It is a well organised race which connects the most spectacular sights in the city.

The route of the Barcelona Marathon leads through the most beautiful spots in the city which starts and ends at the bottom of the green hills of Montjuic Park just right at the Magic Fountain. During the race the participants can enjoy the highlights of Barcelona such as the Camp Nou which is the home of FC Barcelona, La Pederera, the Sagrada Familia as well as the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and many of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This year the Barcelona Marathon will take place on 15th March and the race will start at 8.30 in the morning. In this short article we will list the top events in Barcelona in 2015. Barcelona is the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain and it is also the second largest city in Spain.

Another popular sport events is the ‘Trofeo Conde de Godò de Tennis’ which is a tennis tournament. This year the tennis tournament will be held from 20th April to 26th April. Another awaited event in the city is the ‘La Diada de Sant Jordi’ which is the Lover’s Day. In the winter when the weather cools down and Christmas is just around the corner the various Christmas markets open in the city. Usually just like in the other big European cities they are open from the end of November until the end of December. It is one of the highlights of the city in the winter and it is a perfect place to get into the festive spirit and do some of your pre-Christmas shoppings as well.

Apart from these events in the city there are plenty of concerts in Barcelona through the whole year. Visitors can attend the most famous artists concerts such as Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, Roxette, AC/DC, Maroon 5, U2, Nickelback and so on.

U2 concert in Barcelona

U2 will be on a world tour from 2015 and in this occasion the band will give two concerts in Barcelona, Spain.

U2 is one of the most popular Irish rock bands which was formed in 1976 and its current members are Bono, who is the lead singer, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. U2 in no time became one of the most successful bands on the whole world and during their career they have released 13 studio albums. The band’s latest album was the Songs of Innocence which was released in September in 2014 and this was the 13th album of the band. In this occasion the band will start a world tour from next year in May. The Innocence + Experience Tour will be U2’s 15th upcoming tour and so far the band has announced 60 shows world wide. U2 will also visit Spain where they will give two concerts in the second largest city of Spain in the capital of Catalonia in Barcelona. The first U2 concert in Barcelona will be held on Monday 5th October in 2015 and the second concert will be on the upcoming day on Tuesday 6th October in 2015. Both of the concerts in Barcelona will take place at Palau Saint Jordi.
