For example, even though the Spanish Grand Prix is arranged every year, it is still a highlight worth mentioning as tens of thousands of visitors and motorsport freaks decide to visit Barcelona every year to watch their favorite Formula 1 drivers compete.

Dress up for the big carnival week in Barcelona. (February 27 – March 5).
Every year there is a one-week lasting carnival taking place in Barcelona. It isn’t as big an event as the famous carnival in Rio or in Venice, but it is still a fun event that you should enjoy and take a closer look at if you visit the city.
The Carnival in Barcelona is a colorful celebration with lots of music, dancing, and exciting parades. The streets are filled with people in costumes, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. It’s a great way to experience the city’s unique culture and traditions, and you can combine it with delicious food, street performances, and mingling with the locals.

Barcelona marathon (March 16)
No city with self-respect goes through a year without a big marathon competition. But, there is a big difference between running a marathon in a boring environment, and running a marathon while looking at beautiful buildings such as Sagrada Familia and Casa Bottla, then boosting your energy along La Rambla, and getting some inspiration as you get closer to Parc Güell. It isn’t an everyday opportunity to see such beauties while running, so if you want to try something new, why don’t you come to partake in Barcelona Marathon this year?
The marathon has been an annual event in Barcelona since 1976, and it is one of the most popular marathon runs in Europe. The official name might confuse someone, Zurich Barcelona Marathon. But don’t worry, the marathon is arranged in Barcelona (Spain), and not in Zurich (Switzerland). That name is only given because the Zurich Insurance Group is the prime sponsor of the event.
Night of the Museums
Wouldn’t it be nice to visit some of the most popular and famous museums in Barcelona in the evening/night? Not only can you do this if you buy a ticket to the “Night of the Museums” in Barcelona, but you can also enjoy special programs, workshops, and tours that are unavailable throughout the rest of the year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about Barcelona and also to visit lots of museums with one single ticket. Do not forget that kids are very welcome to this event as well, so let them rest some extra during daytime, and then bring them along in the evening and let them experience how fun it is to learn after normal bedtime.

Spanish Grand Prix (June 1)
The Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona is one of the city’s biggest highlights because it attracts thousands of motorsport fans from all over the world. Billie Eilish concerts (June 14-15)
There are a few artists in the world even more popular than Billie Eilish, but there aren’t many of them. So when Billie Eilish comes to Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, one evening is not enough for all her fans to fit into the venue, so she will do two concerts instead.
This is the place to be if you are a fan of the singer with such a special voice and look and character. She has more than 50 millions subscribers on Youtube, and her most popular song (“Lovely”) has been watched more than 2 billion times on the same platform. Are you going to be among the thousands of fans coming to Barcelona to be there at one of the Billie Eilish concerts this summer?
“Imagine Dragons” concert (July 1)
It might be that the Billie Eilish concerts are the coolest events in Barcelona this year for some, but it is quite obvious that even more people look forward to the “Imagine Dragons” concert on July 1. The concert is held outdoor at the football stadium normally used by Atletico Madrid, but on this day it will be packed with people listening to the songs played by one of the most popular bands in the world today.
“Imagine Dragons” will visit quite a lot of cities in Europe and also perform at several festivals during the summer of 2025, but what better place to see the band and listen to their songs than at one of the best football arenas in the world, in one of the nicest cities in the world?
While Billie Eilish has more than 50 million subscribers on Youtube, “Imagine Dragons” only has 32 million subscribers. But, the most popular songs of the band has been listened to nearly 3 billion times (“Believer” and “Thunder”), telling us clearly that many “Imagine Dragons” songs are among the most played music on the planet right now.
Extreme Barcelona
We don’t know the dates of Extreme Barcelona in 2025 yet, but we assume it will be arranged between September 12-14. This event is the coolest place on earth if you like cool sports such as BMX, Freestyle dancing, Skateing, Trampoline jumping, and so much more. Not only can you spectate such sports, but you can also eat local food from the many food trucks at the location, and it is a place where you can bring kids along and they will for sure have a great time.

Oktoberfest Barcelona
Do you like beer? Do you like Barcelona? If the answer is yes to both those questions, then you should visit the city in October to be a part of the annual Oktoberfest.
In a gigantic tent close to Plaza Espana you can sit down and enjoy all sorts of programs while drinking different kinds of beer. If might not be as big as the Oktoberfest in Germany, but this is still an awesome event. You need to buy tickets in advance and reserve a table, but that makes it easier to plan your trip to Barcelona and to get the most out of your days in the city.
Not only can you drink German beer during the Oktoberfest event in Barcelona. There are lots of bands coming from Germany to the event, meaning you can see lots of leather pants and traditional German clothing, while listening to German folk music and other music you associate with a traditional Oktoberfest event.
Flamenco Festival
Would you rather listen to traditional Flamenco music and see dancers who really know how to move their body to the rhythms of the music? The Flamenco Festival in Barcelona is an event lasting for nearly two weeks in October in Barcelona and there are daily concerts and programs during this period. You need to buy tickets to the different concerts, and the price per ticket is normally between €10 and €20. If you don’t want to spend an entire evening at a flamenco event in Barcelona, but you still want to experience the flamenco vibe, then there are several restaurants in Barcelona where you can enjoy a flamenco show while eating your food, so that might be a good option for you instead.

Christmas markets (November/December)
The annual Christmas markets in Barcelona are not much to look at if you compare it with those in Central Europe and Eastern Europe in cities such as Prague and Vienna. But, they are improving year by year, and if you want to take a closer look at the Catalan Christmas traditions, buy some Christmas souvenirs, and also visit a Christmas market without having to drink lots of hot wine to survive (because of the cold), then the Christmas markets in Barcelona are actually very nice to visit.
