FC Barcelona vs PSG

On March 8th football enthusiasts from across the world will look to Barcelona and to Camp Nou. Can Barcelona get revenge for their terrible 4-0 loss at Parc des Princes in Paris on Valentine’s Day in 2017?

Before the match on Valentine’s Day most people expected it to be a close match that would end with a draw, or maybe a one-goal win for FC Barcelona. Nobody expected it to be a run-over which would end with a 4-0 victory for Paris Saint-Germain. So, what can we expect from the match between FC Barcelona and PSG on March 8th?

What to expect from FC Barcelona vs PSG?

We believe it will be a match that FC Barcelona will start in 110%. They will be out there to get their early goal which will make PSG insecure, and thus they can keep scoring those goals, and in the end it might end with a 5-0 victory or Barcelona. But, they should of course be careful as one single PSG goal will result in FC Barcelona having to score 6 times to win the match. It seems like an awful prognosis for FC Barcelona to actually win, but bigger miracles have happened before in the football world, so we just have to cheer and hope!

Are there tickets available for the match?

If you want to be there at the match between FC Barcelona and PSG, then you can try to buy tickets at the stadium, or you can visit to order your tickets online.

Magnificent portraits made by Picasso

A cooperation between the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Picasso museum in Barcelona has led to this temporary exhibition on Picasso portraits in the Picasso museum in Barcelona.

Since this is a cooperation between the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Picasso Museum it is only fair that the exhibition can be enjoyed in both museums. That is why this exhibition will first be on display in London between October 5th in 2016 and February 6th in 2017, before it will come to Barcelona to be displayed in the Picasso museum between March 17th in 2017 and June 25th in 2017.

It is a fact that Picasso loved making portraits and also caricatures. That is why this exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to see a mixture of his funny side with his more serious side as you discover his portraits and caricatures.

Picasso and mythologies

Did you know that Picasso was very interested in mythologies? Did you know that the first Picasso painting that was preserved was of the legendary hero Hercules?

Hercules, Picasso and mythology

In the period between November 24th in 2016 and the 20th of March in 2017 you can get to know so much more about Pablo Picasso and his attraction to mythology. Here you can watch some of his amazing creations portraying for example Hercules, Apollo, Calydon, Cephalus, Meleager, Nestor, Pollux, Poseidon, the Minotaur and  Zeus. In addition you can watch other beings and feelings he portrayed such as centaurs, fauns and muses, and they explain trivial facts about everyday life, prowess, pleasures, pain, tragedy, etc.

Based on this it might even be something you can bring your kids to, because they do for sure love fauns, centaurs, muses and of course super heroes like Apollo, Nestor and Pollux.

If you would like to know more about the exhibition then you can visit the homepage of the Picasso museum!

For those who would rather skip this exhibition and do something else in Barcelona instead, read on in our Barcelona Guide. Christmas Markets in Barcelona in 2016

Are you in the mood for some Christmas shopping in Barcelona? Want to know more about the Christmas markets in Barcelona in 2016?

There are two Christmas markets that are well known in Barcelona. Here we will give you some basic information about those and also tell you when they will open and when they will close in 2016.

Fira de Santa Llucia Christmas market 2016

This Christmas market in Barcelona is arranged just in front of the big and famous Cathedral in Barcelona. At this market there are around 300 stalls from which you can buy all sorts of Christmas effects. It has its origin back to a celebration of Santa Llucia on December 13th, but has since then developed into a big and full-time Christmas market.

Christmas market dates in 2016: November 27th – December 23rd

Fire de Reis Christmas market 2016

This Christmas market isn’t as big as the Fira de Santa Llucia, but it is growing every year. As you visit this you can expect to meet around 200 stalls from where you can buy all sorts of stuff. This was first of all a market where children could buy presents and toys, and it has kind of preserved that feeling. If you bring children you should be warned that they will find lots of toys and objects to play with here.

Christmas market dates in 2016: December 18th, 2016 – January 6th, 2017

More about the Christmas markets in Barcelona

At the Spanish Christmas markets – counter to the Christmas markets in cities such as Prague and Budapest – you can mostly buy Christmas trees and other Christmas effects at the markets in Barcelona. Another important object to buy is the so called “Cagatió”. What is Cagatió? It’s a piece of wood with a painted face. A few weeks before Christmas everz family place it in the house and then cover it with a cloth. As the children look to this creature they know that Christmas is approaching.

Picasso doing ceramics

We all know Picasso as a painter, but he also sanctified time to ceramics. In this exhibition you can see photographs of Picasso as he works with ceramics.

In September the International Ceramic Academy will host its 47th congress in Barcelona. As a result the Picasso museum in Barcelona has decided to host this exhibition which shows photos of Picasso as he works with ceramics. He got this interest after the Second World War. He worked with ceramics from then until the mid 60s.

The photographs exhibited in this temporary exhibition in the Picasso museum have been made by famous photographers such as Marcos Chamudes, David Douglas Duncan, Roberto Otero and André Villers.

FC Barcelona highlights in September 2016

Are you a football fan coming to Barcelona to watch FC Barcelona in September 2016? There are the highlights on the FC Barcelona schedule!

We all agree that FC Barcelona is the best team in the world, and on a poor day they are still the best team in the world. Lionel Messi has for ages been the big profile of the team, but in the end of the 2015-2016 season and in the start of this current season is seems as if Luis Suarez is the one scoring most goals of the two of them. FC Barcelona will for sure need bot only Messi and Suarez to be in good shape in September, but Neymar is needed as well, because they got some fantastic and exciting matches coming up this month. Here are the FC Barcelona highlights in September 2016.

Barcelona vs Celtic, September 13th

On September 13th it is time for the first Champions League match of the season for FC Barcelona. They will play it on Camp Nou against the Scottish team Celtic FC, which is led by Brendan Rodgers. For several years the Scottish club did not manage to get to the Champions League, but last season they sacked their Norwegian manager Ronny Deila, and now they are back in the Champions League again. But, will they have a chance against Barcelona on Camp Nou? Not at all!

You might say that Leigh Griffiths is a fantastic player and that he is capable of scoring a lot of goals for Celtic. Yes, that is true. But, he does not have a habit of scoring goals in the most important matches and against other great teams. Last year he failed to score in the Scottish cup semi-final in the local derby against Rangers, and we do not believe he will shine like the star on Camp Nou either. Another problem is that Leigh Griffiths is injured at the moment, and because of that he will not be able to play for Scotland in their World Cup qualification opening match against Malta, and it might be that he will not be ready for the FC Barcelona match either.

You can buy tickets for this and all other FC Barcelona matches at Viagogo.

Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid, September 21st

The match against Celtic might be interesting, but the match against Atletico Madrid in La Liga is even more interesting. This is where Barcelona will do their uttermost to revenge their loss against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last year, and where they will have to win to show that they are the best team in Spain. It will not be easy for Atletico Madrid to score any goals in this match, but they have a good grip on FC Barcelona still. Will they manage to cause trouble for FC Barcelona? We for sure hope they won’t, but it will be so interesting that you will for sure want to be there at the stadium to cheer for FC Barcelona in this match. If you can’t come to the stadium and want to watch the match on your TV or online instead, read the following article in the IP Address Guide on how to watch Spanish La Liga online.

These are the top two matches to be played by FC Barcelona in September in 2016. There will of course be played some more matches, but they are not as interesting as the matches against Celtic and Atletico Madrid.

If you come to Barcelona in September we do recommend you to check out the famous attractions of the city, and do not forget to taste paella, a very traditional cuisine in Barcelona and in Spain.
