Girona to Barcelona

How to get from Girona Airport to Barcelona?

Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) is located approximately 100 kilometers north of Barcelona. While it is often used by low-cost carriers as a gateway to the city, you should plan for a travel time of at least 75 to 90 minutes to reach the center of Barcelona.

The most common public transport option is the Girona Airport Bus (Line 604), operated by Sagalés. These buses are specifically timed to coincide with flight arrivals and departures. You can find the most up-to-date schedules and book tickets directly on the Sagalés homepage. As of 2026, a single ticket costs approximately 19.50 Euro, while a return ticket is roughly 35 Euro.

In Barcelona, these buses arrive at and depart from Estació d’Autobusos Barcelona Nord. This station is centrally located and is just a short walk from the Arc de Triomf metro stop (Line 1), making it easy to continue your journey to your hotel.

Private Transfer from Girona Airport

If you prefer a stress-free arrival without navigating bus schedules or carrying luggage through the metro, a private transfer is the most convenient solution. A professional driver will meet you directly in the arrivals hall and take you door-to-door to your destination in Barcelona. This is especially cost-effective for families or small groups.
